We strive to find a good home for every shelter animal.
Here are some of our requirements: |
Every animal that leaves our shelter must be spayed or neutered at the adopter's expense. This will either be arranged by the Dodge County Humane Society before the animal is allowed to go home or the adopter will sign an agreement to take the animal to his/her veterinarian to be altered by a specified date. The shelter will follow up and if the agreement is not adhered to, we reserve the right to confiscate the animal. It is only through a vigorous spay/neuter program, that we can eliminate unwanted litters. |
Animals under the age of 4 months and dogs under 25 pounds will not be adopted to families with children under the age of 5 years. This is for the safety of the animal as well as the child. |
If the adopter rents, we will require a signed form from the landlord giving permission for the pet to be housed on the rental premises before the animal can be adopted. |
All potential adopters must go through an application process before adoption. We want QUALITY adoptions, NOT QUANTITY! We have refused adoptions in the past and will continue to do so if we feel that the animal would be placed in an undesirable situation. |
There will be no adoptions as gifts. |
